The new model is media served a la carte. Video, text, audio, images, and applications are being exposed via web services and widgets. People are no longer are satisfied with the “go-to” content model, instead demanding a “come to me” web. - from Surviving Web 2.0 postThis announcement is particularly meaningful given the recent Facebook F8 announcement. One of the fastest growing destinations on the web has officially opened their gates to widget developers. And now big media is officially playing along. I guess Newsweek was right to declare 2007, 'The Year of the Widget.' For Clearspring, this part of a series of major announcements (see Clearspring/CBS announcement) as we continue to execute on our mission of being the most scalable syndication platform on the planet. Believe it, or not, we have a couple more tricks up our sleeve. Stay tuned gang - this summer is going to be exciting. I think it is safe to say we are witnessing the official beginning Web 3.0. To read some early commentary on the announcement check out Pete and Alex's posts. p.s. As an aside, it is amazing to see how fast this space is growing. I remember last summer when my brother and me were writing the first web widget definition in Wikipedia. ;) technorati tags:

It’s about time for these guys…we’ll see if they can come from more than a lap down on CBS. Regardless, congratulations Hooman! Truly an inflection point, I hope…
On the personal side, here’s hoping Heroes (along with, of course, the Office) is included in the “syndicatable” content pool.

Ryan! Nice to see you online brotha. It’s been too long.
I think that you will see that the NBC guys are actually pretty far. They are one of the most advanced media companies I have dealt with in terms of their thinking.
And don’t worry, your personal demand will be satisfied barring unforseen circumstances!!!! Ping me via email sometime. We should get together next time I am in NYC. Punch Greg and Jordan in the arm for me.

Thanks to all of you. We really appreciate your support and hope that this is the first step towards a better web. I know we have a lot of work to do, but I hope that we are on the right track!

Cool this, but I really want to take one ClearSpring Widget to put it on my blog. Where to find it?
And what about video widgets? Do you count them?
Just for example:
Revver serve about 100.000 videos daily, about 30.000 through widgets, than Magnify.net – they collect about 200.000 videos weekly and serve about 100.000 weekly through their widget.

Which one do you want? We are not a widget gallery like Google, Netvibes, etc, but I can ping you some. We are more like our friends at Feedburner…

Brian, thanks for the love. Truth be told, I swiped it off Google image search. Pretty rad though, eh?
