Suprax Antibiotic

Suprax antibiotic, Now that the dust has settled and the world is taking a reality check, it might be a good time to reflect on Widgets vs. Social Applications (Apps). There's been a great deal of debate/confusion about the distinction between the two - with the media often calling applications, suprax coupon, widgets and vice-versa. Suprax 400, So what's the difference. Is one 'better?' Are things going to change in the future. Let's start from the beginning...

What's the difference between a widget and social app?

Widget: A widget is a portable, atomic, application that can be moved to a blog, start page, or social network.

Social Application (today): A Social Application is an application that is deeply integrated with a particular social network, suprax antibiotic. Specifically, cefixime suprax, it is an application that is integrated with multiple points in the social network such as the profile, Suprax antibiotics, canvas page, news feed and other points.

In short, the widget can effectively be delivered to a 'broader' range of users and has quickly become the building block for the social web, suprax drug. And despite all the hub-hub around OpenSocial, Suprax medication, Social applications, can - at least today - only live on a single social network without modification.

Is one better?

As always, it depends on your purpose and ROI model, suprax price. For branded advertisers, Suprax for sale, it often makes more sense to build a widget versus an app. Why. Suprax antibiotic, Because it takes less time and, frankly, advertisers mainly seek to drive awareness during a campaign period. That being said, buy no prescription suprax, if an advertiser wants to TRULY maintain a relationship an app affords more 'hooks' to do so. Suprax injection, That means you have to refresh the content, make upgrades, deal with users being pissed off and all that good stuff, suprax chlamydia. Oh yea, Suprax cefixime, and that's mostly forever. That could make sense, or it might not, suprax generic. So, long story short, make sure you understand your campaign goal and make sure your widget OR app strategy fits your success metric.

Are things going to change in the future?

Yes and yes, suprax antibiotic. Widgets will become more like social apps and social apps will be standardized via efforts like OpenSocial. Suprax glass, Let's just assume that the two mediums do converge and the term will be widget. Widgets will be portable, have access to your social data, suprax online, and be able to use 'context' from within their container whether it be Facebook, Buy cefixime, MySpace, or the next big thing (iGoogle). Although over the next 1-2 years, suprax chlamydia, trends will result in widgets and apps being indistinguishable. Suprax antibiotic, Unfortunately, today that is not the case and publishers and advertisers have to pick the right mix.

What is the end game?

All applications will be built from widgets. Suprax coupon, There will be no apps vs. widgets. Widgets will access your social data, suprax drug, from wherever they are installed. Suprax indications, Game. Set. Match.

Clearspring & NBC

NBCU Clearspring GraphicToday Clearspring Technologies and NBC Universal are officially announcing a first-of-kind partnership. One of the largest media companies in the world will be working hand-in-hand with a widget syndication platform to execute a major cross-division strategic distribution initiative. This partnership is not just significant for Clearspring. It signifies a major shift for big media. They are officially moving away from a destination model and embracing the new model in web distribution - syndication.
The new model is media served a la carte. Video, text, audio, images, and applications are being exposed via web services and widgets. People are no longer are satisfied with the “go-to” content model, instead demanding a “come to me” web. - from Surviving Web 2.0 post
This announcement is particularly meaningful given the recent Facebook F8 announcement. One of the fastest growing destinations on the web has officially opened their gates to widget developers. And now big media is officially playing along. I guess Newsweek was right to declare 2007, 'The Year of the Widget.' For Clearspring, this part of a series of major announcements (see Clearspring/CBS announcement) as we continue to execute on our mission of being the most scalable syndication platform on the planet. Believe it, or not, we have a couple more tricks up our sleeve. Stay tuned gang - this summer is going to be exciting. I think it is safe to say we are witnessing the official beginning Web 3.0. To read some early commentary on the announcement check out Pete and Alex's posts. p.s. As an aside, it is amazing to see how fast this space is growing. I remember last summer when my brother and me were writing the first web widget definition in Wikipedia. ;) technorati tags: , ,
